Volunteer Spotlight: Charles

January 10, 2019 by TheVillageLady Leave a Comment

For those of you who’ve spent anytime working with us, you’ve surely met the amazing Mr. Charles. He is a daily fixture in our office, volunteering his time and talent to keeping our budget on track as he serves as our bookkeeper! Volunteering is all in the family for Mr. Charles, as his wife Gail is a regular volunteer with our moms as well!

Mr. Charles has a degree in information systems from Strayer University and worked for the Xerox Corporation for 45 years. Carried To Full Term was literally in its second full year operationally and was in need of a bookkeeper. His wife Gail, had already joined the organization as a houseparent. She later went on to become a mentor. Gail shared that her hubby had bookkeeping experience during one of our meetings.

It’s no surprise to anyone who knows him, Mr. Charles is very community-minded and he eventually agreed to take on the responsibility of creating a bookkeeping system for the infant organization. To date, he has done an incredible job and we are truly appreciative of his time and support. Additionally, he has served on several homeowner associations, member of the Xerox Community Involvement Committee, and volunteered for many Habitat for Humanity projects in Loudoun County.

Thank you, Mr. Charles for all you do for Carried To Full Term!
