History

Carried To Full Term began as a response to an urgent need within our community. We are a Christ-centered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing long-term housing to pregnant women in crisis including women who have been abandoned and are homeless for up to 24 months in a very structured setting. We believe every baby deserves a home and in support of that belief, our overall goal is to transform the lives of the mothers to have them become self-sufficient and independent.

Our Director spent years volunteering at crisis, pregnancy and rape centers helping women who were pregnant and desperately in need of support particularly housing. A myriad of factors including loss of income, abuse, relocation, divorce, abandonment, and homelessness including may lead an expectant mother to our doors.  Whatever circumstances explain a person’s or family’s homelessness are likely to worsen once homelessness becomes a reality.

We assist mothers admitted to our home teaching them to take responsibility for their actions, obtain and retain employment, complete their education, and contribute to the community by volunteering up to twenty hours a month. We support our mother’s development of life skills with parenting and childcare classes, financial management, goal setting, home skills, spiritual development through community bible studies.

Factors that might lead an expectant mother to a maternity home ranges from loss of income, an abusive relationship, divorce, abandonment, and homelessness to name a few. Whatever the circumstances that explain a person’s or family’s homelessness, they are likely to worsen once homelessness becomes a reality. Any unexpected crisis can quickly lead to depression, unemployment, and other conditions that will make it more difficult for a family to regain economic stability and a home.

At Carried To Full Term, we focus on teaching and equipping mothers with the tools to break poverty cycles that will enable them to become self-sufficient and independent. The average age of a mother in our program is 29 years old. The work required to undo twenty-nine years of unhealthy patterns and habits is significant.  We cannot do the job alone. We need your help. We need 250 friends to partner with us to contribute $20 a month via our Pathways Partnership program we will be able to cover the monthly housing costs.  You can click on the link below to give.
